Give a combined document consistent numbering

Add centered page numbers at the bottom of every page in the form 1 / 12. Numbering follows the physical order of the PDF and uses the total page count.

Make a document packet easier to navigate

Page numbers help readers refer to the same physical page in a combined packet. FolioSprint adds a centered footer showing the page position and total, such as 3 / 12. Existing printed numbers remain part of the original page.

Before you start

Existing printed page numbers are not removed. Check that the new numbers do not overlap footer text, stamps or signatures. If a file has blank pages, remove them before numbering so the final sequence matches your intended document.

How to use Page numbers

  1. Prepare the final order

Merge, remove or reorder pages before applying new numbering.

  2. Upload the PDF

    Start numbering the finished document.

  3. Review the footer

Download the result and check the bottom of each page, especially where an existing footer is close to the edge.

Page numbers questions

Can I choose a different starting number?

This tool numbers from the first physical PDF page using the current page count. It does not provide custom starting numbers.

Will old page numbers be replaced?

No. The new footer is added to the page. Check for overlap with existing numbering.

Should I number before merging?

Apply numbering after you finish merging and reordering so the footer matches the final document.

What happens to my files?

Files are private to your session or account. Free downloads expire after 2 hours; Pro downloads after 7 days. You can delete them sooner from your workspace.
