Translate document text into a readable new file
Choose a target language and receive translated text in TXT and DOCX formats. The tool keeps page labels and aims to preserve headings and paragraph breaks so you can compare the translation with the source.
Read a document in another language
The translation output is a readable text document rather than a recreation of the source PDF’s design. Columns, page positions and graphics are not preserved as an identical translated PDF. Requests use up to 60,000 extracted characters and may require splitting longer files.

How to use Translate PDF
- Prepare readable source text
Choose a text-based PDF. For difficult scans, run OCR with the source language first.
- Select the target language
Choose from the available language list and confirm that extracted text may be sent to OpenAI.
- Review the translation
Check names, numbers and specialized terms. Download the text or Word copy for further editing.

Will the translated document have the same layout?
No. The tool exports translated text in TXT and DOCX, not a layout-identical translated PDF.
Is the translation certified?
No. It is an AI-generated reading and editing aid. Check the recipient’s requirements if a certified translation is needed.
Which languages can I choose?
English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Turkish, Chinese, Japanese and Arabic are available in the target-language selector.
What happens to my files?
Files are private to your session or account. Free downloads expire after 2 hours; Pro downloads after 7 days. You can delete them sooner from your workspace. Extracted text is sent to OpenAI only after you confirm AI processing.
