Each detected table is written to its own worksheet, labelled with the source page. This works best when tables have clear borders and consistent rows and columns. Select pages if you only need part of a report.

PDF to Excel extracts detected tables rather than recreating an entire PDF page as an editable spreadsheet. Each detected table gets its own worksheet. Borderless layouts and scanned tables can be difficult to identify, even if their contents look clear to a human reader.
Before you start
This is table extraction, not a complete PDF-to-spreadsheet layout conversion. Scanned or borderless tables may not be detected. Check column alignment and number formats before calculations. Cell contents that could start spreadsheet formulas are exported as text.
How to use PDF to Excel
- Choose the source PDF
Use a document with clear table boundaries and readable text where possible.
- Select the table pages
Enter the page numbers that contain the data, then start conversion.
- Validate the workbook
Compare headers, row counts and totals with the PDF. Check numeric formats before using formulas.
PDF to Excel questions
Does it recover the original Excel formulas?
No. A PDF usually contains displayed values rather than the spreadsheet formulas that produced them.
Why are some numbers stored as text?
Currency signs, spacing or decimal conventions can be part of the extracted value. Check the source convention before converting cells to numbers.
Can it convert a scanned table?
OCR can help make a scan readable, but it does not guarantee accurate table reconstruction. Start with a text-based PDF or the original workbook when available.
What happens to my files?
