Separate tabular information from a report

Extract detected structured tables from selected PDF pages into an XLSX workbook. Each table gets its own worksheet, making it easier to compare or clean the data in a spreadsheet editor.

Collect the data appendix from a long report

Use this workflow when a report contains a small number of relevant tables among many pages of prose. The table detector needs recognizable structure; a layout with aligned words is not always enough. The output format is the same XLSX format used by PDF to Excel.

Before you start

Detection relies on the structure of the source PDF. Borderless tables and scans can fail to produce useful rows and columns. Check merged cells and decimal separators before calculations. The tool never treats extracted cell text as an executable formula.

How to use Extract tables

  1. Locate the data tables

Find the physical page positions of the tables in the report or appendix.

  2. Limit the page selection

Enter only the relevant pages, such as 12-15. This keeps unrelated tables out of the workbook.

  3. Compare the worksheets

Review each detected table, including headers, merged cells, missing rows and totals.

Extract tables questions

Can I crop around a single table?

This tool selects whole PDF pages and exports the structured tables it detects on them. It does not offer a drag-to-crop table region.

Why was no table found?

Borderless layouts, scans or irregular cells can prevent detection. Try a text-based source PDF or the original spreadsheet.

Are extracted formulas executed?

Formula-like source strings are kept as text. Review the cells before creating your own calculations in a spreadsheet application.

What happens to my files?

Files are private to your session or account. Free downloads expire after 2 hours; Pro downloads after 7 days. You can delete them sooner from your workspace.
