Prepare a photo at the requested size
Set pixel dimensions to match the requirements you have been given. The tool crops centrally to the requested shape and resizes the image. For a 2 by 2 inch image at 300 pixels per inch, use 600 by 600 pixels.
Size a portrait for a document upload
This is a crop-and-resize tool. It does not validate identity-photo rules, replace the background, measure facial proportions or guarantee acceptance. A 600 × 600 pixel image corresponds to 2 × 2 inches at 300 pixels per inch, but that arithmetic alone does not make a photo compliant.
Before you start
This is a crop-and-resize utility, not an identity-photo compliance checker. It does not verify background, head position, expression or acceptance by an authority. Confirm the current requirements with the issuing authority and preview the finished crop.
How to use Passport photo size
- Check the destination’s rules
Find the required dimensions, background and face-position requirements from the issuing authority.
- Set width and height
Upload the portrait and enter the required pixel dimensions. The image is cropped to fill the chosen rectangle.
- Review before submitting
Check the crop, face placement and file size yourself. Download only when the result fits the destination’s actual requirements.
Passport photo size questions
Will the result be accepted for a passport?
Acceptance is determined by the issuing authority. This tool only crops and resizes the image; it does not check compliance.
Can I choose the crop position manually?
The current crop fills the target rectangle from the image center. Inspect whether that leaves the face and required margins correctly positioned.
Can it remove the background?
No. Start with a photograph that already has the required background and lighting.
