Fix sideways scans and mixed orientations
Choose the affected page numbers and a clockwise rotation of 90, 180 or 270 degrees. A 90-degree turn fixes many landscape scans; 180 degrees fixes a page scanned upside down.
Make a scan comfortable to read
Use 90° or 270° for landscape scans that display sideways, and 180° for upside-down pages. Rotation changes the page orientation; it does not straighten photographed pages with perspective distortion or repair a slightly skewed scan.
Before you start
Rotation changes page orientation. It does not straighten a slightly tilted scan or repair perspective distortion. Use the preview to identify the pages that need turning, then check the downloaded result in your usual PDF reader.
How to use Rotate PDF
- Check the orientation
Upload the PDF and inspect its sideways or upside-down pages.
- Select pages and angle
Choose all pages or a specific range. Rotation is clockwise: 90°, 180° or 270°.
- Download and reopen
Check the saved result in your PDF reader. Pages outside the selected range keep their orientation.
Rotate PDF questions
Can I rotate just one page?
Yes. Enter that page number rather than all, then choose the angle.
Is 270° clockwise the same as 90° left?
Yes. Choose 270° clockwise when the page needs a quarter-turn to the left.
Should I rotate before OCR?
Upright text gives OCR a better starting point. Rotate the affected pages first, then run OCR with the correct language.
